Norman Reedus’ photography book Portraits from the Woods has a new edition available. This is a hardcover edition with an illustrated bookplate signed by Reedus. Portraits from the Woods is Reedus’ most recent book that contains a variety of his photos.

The updated version of Portraits from the Woods contains a customs illustrated bookplate by artist Erik Foss. Bookplates are a decorative label used to designate ownership that is also known as “ex-libris” or “from the library of.”

Erik Foss is the artist who created the bookplate, and it is a fascinating doodle type drawing that includes the BigBaldHead logo of a skull head with BBH for the teeth and Xs for the eyes. The framework consists of clowns, cats, jack o lanterns, skulls, devils and other oddities. It is a perfect illustration for a bookplate of photos by Norman Reedus as it seems to capture his personality.

The artist had this to say about creating this illustration for Reedus’ bookplate:

"When asked to be involved in Norman’s project I was touched. This is a man that has continually supported and promoted me and my work at every opportunity possible. Norman is constantly growing and evolving and seeking new ways to express himself, his work ethic and creativity is inspiring. For the bookplate I simply took older illustrations from a simpler time and injected the subtle objects that Norman has for better or worse fetishized through out his life"
