The Walking Dead, welcome to the Commonwealth

6) The Whisperer surviving in the ruins of Hilltop, Keith, is the first Whisperer (Outside of Lydia, of course) that we’ve seen since the group’s demise in season ten’s “A Certain Doom.”

7) Inside the office where Eugene’s team watches their orientation video, you can see the state flag of Ohio, confirming that the Commonwealth is located somewhere in that state.

8) As Stephanie gets ice cream for herself and Eugene, you can see, among other things, a poster of two people rolling up their sleeves together, which is an homage to a propaganda poster promoting labor and management cohesion during World War II.

9) Additionally, as Stephanie and Eugene walk through town, they pass by a building named “The Milton Hotel.” The governor’s last name is Milton. I wonder if the governor’s family might have been real estate magnates before the outbreak.

10) Tomichi was in Chicago when the outbreak hit (The first character we’ve met from there) but fled before things got out of hand. Chicago either didn’t break down as severely as Los Angeles did, or walker incidents may have sprung up earlier there. At least early enough to give Tomichi time to flee before traffic got gridlocked the way we saw in L.A. in Fear The Walking Dead.
