Who is Frost on The Walking Dead?
By Renee Hansen
During the most recent episode of The Walking Dead, a man named Frost (Glenn Stanton) was tortured by the Reapers and then by Daryl Dixon to ultimately be killed by the leader of the Reapers, Pope. Some fans were confused as to who Frost was in the storyline.
When Maggie returned, she brought with her a handful of people from the community she most recently lived in. We eventually learned the community’s name was Meridian, and the people who lived there were called the Wardens.
The community was attacked by the Reapers, who Maggie explained were well trained and lethal. They killed as many as they could, and Maggie and a handful of others could escape. Only they were followed, and more of them were killed by a lone Reaper, who was an excellent marksman.
Who is Frost on The Walking Dead?
The members of the Wardens that we met were Cole, Elijah, Duncan, Agatha and Frost. Cole and Elijah came with Maggie in season 10, and at the beginning of season 11, Duncan, Agatha and Frost arrived at Alexandria.
Cole was killed in the forest during the first attack by the Reapers. Duncan was mortally wounded during this time as well. Then Agatha was attacked by walkers soon after. Frost and Elijah were the final Wardens remaining.
We first saw that Frost had been captured by the Reapers when Daryl was captured and waterboarded. Frost was in the cell next to him, and when he tried to engage Daryl in conversation, he quickly caught on to Daryl’s plan to say he didn’t know Maggie and her group. You can tell that Frost had already been beaten, but that didn’t stop them from taking him in for another round.
We didn’t know much about Frost other than he was a man of integrity. He was willing to take a beating to keep Maggie and the rest safe. Even when Carver started pulling out his fingernails, he refused to give anything away. Only when Daryl made it clear about what he was trying to do and cut off Frost’s finger did he give anything away.
In the end, we saw poor Frost’s reanimated body tied to a pole at Meridan. Pope took credit for his death but claimed he got the information he needed. It is hard to believe that Pope would kill a man willing to divulge information about his enemy. I think Frost stayed mum until the end, fueling Pope’s rage, which forced him to kill Frost.
