What kind of crossbow does Daryl Dixon use?

Fans of The Walking Dead series are always curious about the weapons used by the characters in the series. Throughout the series, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) has been known for carrying his crossbow. This is a smart weapon in an apocalypse as it is light and quiet, and you can make your bolts if needed. A quiet weapon is humorous coming from a character who has ridden a loud motorcycle during the entire series.

In seasons one-three, a Horton Scout HD 125 Crossbow was used by Daryl. With the research I have done, this is only a step above a child’s toy. This was most likely used due to the weight of this weapon. 5.5lbs., making it easier to carry over a 12 hour filming day.

PSE Fang 350 Crossbow was used briefly in season seven, and Mike at ArcheryDude.com says this is a crossbow worthy of Daryl Dixon. Still lightweight at 7.3lbs, it is easy to handle, and according to Mike, “it’s swift, powerful, quiet, and accurate.”

In 2017 several items from The Walking Dead series were entered into the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. This included a crossbow used by Daryl Dixon in seasons one – three of the series. This is a Black Horton Scout HD 125 crossbow with black nylon shoulder strap and three arrows in a holder attached to the front of the bow.

What kind of crossbow does Daryl use in season 11?

For the final season of the series, Daryl is still using a Stryker Strykezone 380. This crossbow was introduced in season three.

He uses it in “Archeron: Part 1” and “Archeron: Part 2” as well as “Hunted” but loses it along the way in “Rendition.” When the Reapers captured him, it seemed that he only had his knife on him as that is what he used to cut Frost’s (Glenn Stanton) finger off in “On the Inside.”

But, from a first look photo of “Promises Broken,” he does get it back. Or perhaps the Reapers had a spare laying around that they loaned to him.

Whatever the case, it looks like he will have his trusted weapon back in episode 1107.

The synopsis for “Promises Broken” states that Daryl hunts with Leah, so it’s good he has his crossbow back.
