The Walking Dead Frost

13) The ferals are eventually killed by a walker guts covered Connie opening the door to allow in walkers, who devour the ferals. This is very similar to how Carol dealt with Gareth’s mother, Mary, in the season five opener, “No Sanctuary.”

14) Frost is the ninth named character to die this season and the fourth Warden to die this season.

15) This episode likely gets its name both from the ferals hiding inside the farmhouse walls and because of Daryl being, nominally, “inside” The Reapers. In both cases, the threats are not outside these relative safe spaces but rather on the inside.

16) According to showrunner Angela Kang, the writers wanted the portraits inside the farmhouse to be of long-dead relatives of the ferals. And, as they became more animalistic, they sought to destroy vestiges of their lingering humanity by scratching out the eyes of the portraits of their relatives.
