Ross Marquand to attend Motor City Comic Con this weekend
By Renee Hansen
Ross Marquand has portrayed Aaron on The Walking Dead series since season 5. When he was first introduced, he was a recruiter for Alexandria, and his introduction was right off the comic book page. He didn’t make a great impression on Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) initially, but over time Aaron has become a great leader at Alexandria. Marquand will be in attendance at Motor City Comic Con in Detroit this weekend.
Motor City Comic Con is held at The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, on October 15-17. The guest list is impressive, with Marquand the only Walking Dead actor currently listed. But, the other guest are impressive as well. Antony Starr, Britt Baker, Elijah Wood, Ice T, Gaten Matarazzo, Giancarlo Esposito, Joey Fatone, James Jude Courtney and many more.
If you can attend, don’t miss Marquand in the Twisted Toonz event on Saturday, October 16, from 2 pm – 3 pm. This will feature Marquand and Jim Cummings, Nolan North and Maurice LaMarche, all voice actors who are truly gifted at their craft.
So, if you are in the area, don’t miss

Aaron – The Walking Dead season 11
Marquand plays Aaron in the series and has experienced significant losses, and is currently experiencing a dark time in his life. Things are bleak in his beloved community, the residents are hungry, the walls need to be repaired, and he feels this burden falls on his shoulders. He is one of the last remaining people who have been at Alexandria since the beginning, and it is a hard thing to see.
Luckily he has his little Gracie to care for and love him right back. But I think we will see some dark times ahead for Aaron. Carol stepped in when Aaron used a walker as a weapon on the Whisperer they found at Hilltop. She told him he doesn’t want to travel down that path. But what if he is already on that path?
Marquand had this to say about Father Gabriel’s quick decision to kill Mays and Aaron’s reaction to that in an interview with TV Insider.
"If a man of God and one of his best friends is so willing to give up on humans, should he adopt that same mentality for the betterment of our community? Is that the mindset he needs to have, moving forward?"
Aaron will return in the final season of The Walking Dead on AMC on February 20, 2022.
