Fear the Walking Dead this isn’t the end

31) Dakota is the thirty-second named character to die, fifth in this episode, and the first character we’ve seen vaporized by a nuclear blast. If I’m being honest, I’m willing to bet she’ll be the only one we see meet such a fate.

32) As the Civic Republic Military chopper leaves, we see the message Wes spray-paints on the ground reads “This isn’t the end”, with the word “end” painted on Riley’s back.

33) After giving up the ruse of being Morgan, and revealing his true identity to Howard, Strand says “I come from nothing, my friend, and I know how to survive.“, giving this segment its title quote.

34) As the warhead’s blast hits the building he and Strand are holed up in, Howard clutches his St. Christopher(?) medallion. One could argue that Howard’s wife was right, and that it did protect him.

35) This episode gets its name from, among other things, the nuclear blast being the “Beginning” Teddy and his cult had long been preaching about. Additionally, the name also likely comes from the “new beginnings” for Daniel, Rabbi Kessner, Sarah, Luciana, Charlie, and Wes at the Civic Republic, for Morgan and Grace, who’ve now adopted baby Morgan. For Dwight and Sherry, the latter of whom has finally gotten past her trauma from dealing with Negan. Lastly, the name is also likely a reference to the whole “This is not the endtheme which is peppered throughout the episode.

36) While not named in the episode, the credits reveal the name of the family Dwight and Sherry rescue from the Beginners (And the parents of Briga): Kim and Kevin Larson.

37) At no point has Teddy’s cult had any kind of group name. It is only because of their slogan, “The End Is The Beginning”, that, throughout season six, I have consistently referred to them as “The Beginners”.
