Will Victor Strand be Fear the Walking Dead’s villain in season 7?
By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead’s seventh season premiere shows Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) as a king sitting high in his tower. In his last comment of the episode, he tells Howard (Amid Abtahi), anyone who tires to get to me, will have to get through them, meaning the horde of walkers outside his tower. Strand is living his best life once again.
In what can only be a second apocalypse, this new world is something to behold. The world is a wasteland, and food and water are scarce. We see Will (Gus Halper) searching for both at the beginning of the episode. Everywhere he looks, things are contaminated by the fallout.
He becomes so desperate he cooks an opossum that is for sure contaminated, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Then enters a rescue team.
Will Victor Strand be a villain in season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead?
The rescue team is part of Victor Strand’s new community. It isn’t hard to believe that amidst a wasteland, Strand sits in his tower with all the amenities he could want.
This new Victor Strand is, I believe, the real Victor Strand. In the past, he has done many shady things, but he was still a good guy. This new Strand, the real Strand, is hardcore. It’s almost like he is trying to make up for lost time. The time he spent on people he was emotionally attached to when he could have been doing the things that feel more natural to him. The indulgent, self-serving things that we see him doing now.
The trailer shows that Morgan and Strand are still at odds, and understandably so. This season will be an exciting battle between these two characters. If Strand is this season’s villain things are about to get very interesting.
When Alicia makes it back into the fold, it will be interesting to see how she reacts to everything she has missed.
Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC with “Six Hours” on October 24. This episode is currently available on AMC+.
