Sonequa Martin-Green looked pretty in pink at NYCC 2021. She was in attendance to promote the fourth season of Star Trek Discovery, where her character Michael Burnham has been promoted to captain. The fourth season premieres on Paramount+ on November 18.

Martin-Green’s character will be the first black woman to take the captain’s seat in a live-action Star Trek series. The season 4 trailer was unveiled at the event, and it looks like Burnham and her crew are headed into new terrain against an unknown anomaly that is five light-years wide.

The Federation, which had collapsed due to “The Burn,” now looks like it is being reassembled. Captain Burnham and the Federation must work together to figure out how to deal with the anomaly.

Sonequa Martin-Green as Captain Burnham

Martin-Green’s character Michael Burnham is a human raised in Vulcan culture by Sarek, father of Spock. At the end of season three, Burnham was promoted to captain of the USS Discovery.

Star Trek: Discovery has received favorable critical reviews and has been nominated for numerous awards over the past three seasons. This series has led to the expansion of the Star Trek franchise, including the creation of the companion series Star Trek: Short Treks and the spin-off series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Martin-Green recently starred in Space Jam: A New Legacy. She plays the role of Lebron James’ wife, Kamiyah. This character is a fictionalized version of James’ real wife, Savannah.

Fans of The Walking Dead will always remember her as Sasha. In the season three episode “Made to Suffer,” she was introduced to the series with her brother Tyreese (Chad Colman). Sasha was a brave woman who was a great fighter and friend in the series. She made the ultimate sacrifice when she gave her life to save the lives of others in season sevens “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life.” Her death scene was such a fantastic scene; if you are going to be killed off on a series, that was the way to go.

AMC has announced that Tales of the Walking Dead anthology series will premiere in the summer of 2022. It would be an interesting story to see where Sasha and Tyreese were before meeting up with Rick and the gang at the prison.

You can also see her in a Netflix original film Holiday Rush and a dramatic comedy, The Outside Story. If you are a fan of New Girl, you will remember her well as Rhonda.

Next. Will Victor Strand be Fear the Walking Dead’s villain in season 7?. dark
