Eleanor Matsuura in Creepshow?
Many members of The Walking Dead Universe have had exciting ventures outside the undead world of The Walking Dead franchise. From film to TV, you never know what to expect next as they cover a vast spectrum of creative projects. And there are plenty more to come!
As Autumn has hit and it is the season for spooky things, what better way in the lead-up to Halloween than to binge on some great horror films and shows? There are so many to choose from and no better time of year to watch them. But one spooky show, in particular, that is great scary viewing is Creepshow.
Creepshow is a horror anthology series that Greg Nicotero produces. The series also features incredible practical effects by KNB EFX, which Nicotero partly founded. With season 3 streaming on Shudder, one of the latest episodes caught my attention with a potential TWD actor making a cameo.
Eleanor Matsuura in Creepshow?
Creepshow is back for its third season! So far, we have been through a spooky spiral of horrifyingly good tales of horror that have kept viewers entertained in the traditional way only they can. And, of course, all with some familiar faces.
Creepshow hasn’t been a stranger to celebrity cameos in previous episodes. Some we have seen so far include Anna Camp, Tobin Bell, Ryan Kwanten, Keith David and Kiefer Sutherland are just a few names from a long list. It can be enjoyable for fans of the show to see those familiar faces pop up on screen.
But there have also been many cast members of TWDU who make guest appearances. Cailey Fleming (Judith Grimes) was featured in the very first episode in the “House of the Head” segment, while Josh McDermitt (Dr. Eugene Porter) was Harlan King in “Pesticide” as seen in season 2 and C. Thomas Howell (Roy) in “Dead and breakfast” which was featured in the same episode as “Pesticide.” But that’s not all, there are more familiar faces set to grace our screens in season 3.
I love Creepshow and its classic horror vibe; Nicotero and the whole crew do an incredible job and I always love to look for homages and tributes to other horror works or even other Creepshow episodes within the segments! One thing I noticed, however, in season 3, episode 3, the second segment, “Ok, I’ll Bite,” was a very familiar voice… or so I believe! We see actor Nicholas Massouh portray a prisoner (Elmer) who receives a letter of praise about his knowledge of spiders.
But Elmer’s letter is read out by a voice-over, and it sounded very familiar indeed! Although not confirmed yet, it seems to be a small voice cameo by Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko), who is part of the TWDU Family. Although not the most notable cameo, Matsuura has a distinct voice that was perfect for the scene – and who knows, maybe she could appear in a future episode seen on screen and what an excellent VO credit for her to have!
What do you think? Is this another TWD cameo to add to the list? I sure do think it is!
There are two episodes for season 3 of Creepshow to go which are added on Thursdays. You can catch all 3 seasons of Creepshow, along with a holiday special, streaming on Shudder or as part of the AMC Plus bundle. This service is available on Amazon Prime in the UK.
