Jeffrey Dean Morgan and family adopt rescue pup named Irwin
By Renee Hansen
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton Morgan are truly some of the best people we know. They are generous and kind and their willingness to help fur and feathered friends is amazing. Now they welcome a new addition to their family named Irwin and it is a heartwarming tale.
Irwin is a dog who was found in Puerto Rico, he was hit by a car and left for dead. Due to the wonderful people at The Sato Project and the generosity of The Morgans and many others, Irwin has undergone a miraculous recovery to now be given a forever home at Mischief Farms.
In August 2021 the Sato Project rescued 160 dogs and cats off the mainland of Puerto Rico ahead of hurricane season. This is a costly endeavor and it was funded by the Mission Possible 14 fundraising campaign. Irwin was found during this time but was too weak for this trip.

When Irwin was first found he was anemic and nowhere near strong enough to endure the surgery required to amputate his leg. He was fed and cared for to build up his strength. The volunteer to care for him had never seen such a scared pup in their 15 years of rescue work.
If you go to The Sato Project Instagram page you can read all about Irwin’s journey.
Now Irwin has made his way to The Morgan’s farm and will be well cared for there.
Morgan used the power of social media and his massive amount of followers to help encourage donations to The Satos Project.
He also posted regular updates on Irwin’s progress through surgery and recovery until he could make his way to the farm to his new family. Now that he is there, it seems Irwin is settling in nicely.
Bravo to the Morgans for being so kind to animals in need.
