As we try to keep ourselves occupied until we can see the next Walking Dead episode in February 2022, many questions remain unanswered, and many more have come up. In the final episode of season 11, part 1, “For Blood,” we witnessed the storm that hit Alexandria. In addition to the storm, there was a fire and a horde of walkers. Was this all just an act of nature, or were there other forces involved?

The first part of season eleven had three significant focuses, Daryl and the Reapers, Maggie and Negan and the community of Alexandria and the dire straights they are under. Alexandria had been hit hard by the Whisperer war then experienced an influx of residents due to the burning of Hilltop. This has strained their resources, and according to Daryl, game is scarce.

We saw Aaron trying to shoulder the burden of the repairs at the community and many others trying to help with the food stores. In the finale, for part one, a storm rages through Alexandria along with a horde and a fire at the windmill.

The Walking Dead For Blood, did someone sabotage Alexandria?

During an episode of Beauty and Beazts podcast, which I am a co-host, Ryan suggested that this wasn’t just a natural occurrence. Then as we discussed this, it seems he brings up an excellent possibility.

It is curious that a fire would break out at the windmill during torrential rain. Even if the lightning strikes the windmill and fire starts, that much rain would quickly put the fire out. But, if someone set the fire inside the windmill, it would burn longer.

With all the noise of the storm, what would lure the walkers to Alexandria? We know the walls are weak, and there have been some efforts to fortify them, but it wouldn’t take a lot to make a wall panel fall. So, either the strong winds or someone tampering with the walls could have caused the panel to fall. Then this would allow the horde to quickly make its way into the community.

Why choose the house with all the people in it? The walkers couldn’t hear them over the storm, but they would see movement inside if they were led there.

Ryans’ theory? The remaining Whisperers the were discovered at Hilltop led the horde to Alexandria.

Perhaps this storyline was just written with some major holes, but I think this is a solid theory.
