Where is Alicia on Fear the Walking Dead?

Fear the Walking Dead has premiered its seventh season and while this episode was Strand-centric a familiar name was a topic of conversation. During the season premiere, we met a newcomer Will (Gus Halper) who not only knew of Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) he was actually in love with her.

The timeline between the end of season six and the beginning of seven hasn’t been given but some time has passed. Showrunners have stated “months” have passed since the nuclear bomb was detonated. We did find out that Will had been on his own for 50 days but it is safe to say it’s been longer than that, especially with how advanced Strand’s tower community seems to be.

Will had taken refuge in the bunker than Theodore Maddox – Teddy (John Glover) would take over and improve and eventually lock Alicia up in. The bunker was outfitted similarly to the Holding where Teddy’s cult followers lived.

Where is Alicia on Fear the Walking Dead?

Will gave us some insight into the Franklin Hotel bunker where Alicia was held captive. We learn that she was housed with 128 other people, survivors of the Holding, and she became a leader among them. Although Alicia and Will became close something happen between them to cause her to exile him from the bunker.  We didn’t learn how he was able to exit the bunker.

After Will met Strand and they set off to find Alicia, they came across a horde of walkers and Will recognized many of them as people from the bunker but he didn’t see Alicia among the undead. Will and Strand head to the location and discover it empty. There is a note for Will that only reads “Padre,” this could be a person or a place. Perhaps South Padre Island in Texas?

Will met his demise at the end of the episode so it is unclear how Alicia will be found, as Strand won’t tell anyone anything about her. He has made it clear that she is someone he loves and considers family and this is what he feels leads to the destruction of communities. The Padre clue and the artwork, if that was a clue, died with Will. Perhaps Will reappear again in an episode that shows what transpired when Alicia was first locked in the bunker.

This season will get very interesting once Alicia is reunited with Morgan and the others. There will no doubt be an altercation with Strand and his new community.
