Joe Bob Briggs and The Walking Dead have been bringing horror to fans for years, and now they are joining forces for a special night of zombie action.

Twenty-five years ago, Joe Bob Briggs debuted the first episode of MonsterVision to horror fans on TNT. Now, he hosts The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs on the Shudder streaming service. Fans of that show will be in for a treat soon, as The Walking Dead will be featured on the next episode of the program.

Bleeding Cool shared news of the program that will air on Friday, Oct. 29, as a special titled The Last Drive-in: The Walking Dead. The original special will feature a re-watch of the first two episodes of The Walking Dead (“Days Gone Bye” and “Guts”) with special guest The Walking Dead executive producer and special effects legend Greg Nicotero.

To make the event even cooler and a bit interactive, the re-watch will be part of a live stream with fans who can participate in the conversation on Twitter at 9 pm ET by using the hashtags #TheLastDriveIn and #TheWalkingDead.

How to watch Last Drive-in: The Walking Dead

The best news of all is that folks who already subscribe to AMC+ likely have Shudder as part of their package and can watch it as it airs and tweet along. If you are unable to make the broadcast during its initial airing, the replay can be found on Shudder as well as AMC+.

With Briggs’ knowledge of horror and Nicotero’s experience creating some of the most gruesome scenes ever, this should be an amazing discussion for fans of the genre as well as hardcore fans of AMC’s zombie drama.
