Garret Dillahunt stars in Ambulance movie directed by Michael Bay
By Renee Hansen
Garret Dillahunt is a fan favorite in The Walking Dead universe as the character John Dorie from Fear the Walking Dead. Dorie was killed in season six and fans greatly miss his presence on the series. Well, good news, they can see Dillahunt soon in his next film, Ambulance.
In January 2021, it was announced that Dillahunt, A Martinez, Keir O’Donnell and Moses Ingram would join the cast that included Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Eiza Gonzalez for this film.
As with any Michael Bay film, Ambulance is full of explosions, car chases, and gunfire. The film follows a war vet who is burdened with astronomical medical bills for his wife. When he seeks help from his adoptive brother, a lifelong criminal, he suggests they rob a bank with a $32 million payout. When things go south, they hijack an ambulance occupied by a paramedic who is trying to save the life of a patient in critical condition.
Garret Dillahunt in Amulance trailer
Dillahunt is featured in the action-packed trailer below. It seems that Dillahunt plays someone on the law enforcement side of things in this film.
Ambulance also starts fellow TWDU alum Jose Pablo Cantillo who played Caesar Martinez on The Walking Dead.
Ambulance is scheduled to be released exclusively in theaters on February 18, 2022.
Next, we will see Dillahunt in Where the Crawdads Sing, which will be released on June 24, 2022.
Another project that Dillahunt is working on is a labor of love called Sprung. If you follow him on Instagram, you may have seen a few posts regarding this one. He is executive producing this one with his friend Greg Garcia. The series has been picked up for ten episodes.
Sprung follows a group of prisoners who are let out because of the pandemic. These guys aren’t murders and the like but people in prison due to lesser crimes. Dillahunt’s character, Jack, was put away for selling a lot of weed, for example. The prisoners try to adjust to civilian life after being on the inside for many years.
This series also stars Martha Plimpton, Shakira Barrera, Phillip Garcia, James Earl, Clare Gillies, Illeana Douglas, Bryant Carroll, with many others added what seems like daily. Others featured on Dillahunts IG page include Kate Walsh and Chris Bauer.
Garrett Dillahunt has a lot of new projects coming up. Be on the lookout for Ambulance, Where the Crawdads Sing, Sprung and more!
