Fear the Walking Dead shocked some viewers with this walker kill
By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead’s second episode of season seven left some fans with a bit of a shock. Anytime you watch an apocalyptic movie or series, there are bound to be some shocking and even repulsive moments. Occasionally those moments cross a line that some feel shouldn’t be crossed.
If you are a fan of The Walking Dead universe, you have witnessed many gruesome events throughout the three series. From the different stages of decay with the walkers to brutal murders and sometimes scenes that just make you squirm. Fans of horror usually embrace those things, but people who watch these series for the storylines sometimes get a bit of a shock.
This shock happened in the most recent episode of Fear the Walking Dead, “Six Hours.”
Fear the Walking Dead season 7 episode 2
During the airing of “Six Hours,” an episode that focused on Morgan (Lennie James) and Grace (Karen David), and baby Mo, we saw the effects the nuclear bomb has had on the landscape and atmosphere. It is quite a shock to see how even more apocalyptic things have gotten since the bombs went off.
Morgan is ready to do anything to ensure Grace and baby Mo survive. He sets a plan to take them away from the radiated area, and while they are traveling, they encounter a couple, Fred and Bea, who have been severely affected by the fallout. They are disfigured and a bit deranged, and highly irradiated. The couple had tried to escape, along with their baby, but were then burned by the radiation.
As their story unfolds, we find out that Fred killed their baby when it became sick and wouldn’t stop crying. Bea then puts the dead child in a suitcase that they have been carrying with them. Morgan sees the suitcase with growls and movement, and he knows this contains the reanimated body of their child. He shoots it immediately.
I took a quick Twitter poll to see what fans thought; with only 52 votes, it was pretty even as far as who was shocked or not. But, I have seen many other comments, discussions and articles saying this was a terrible scene.
I think we have seen many other moments quite a bit more shocking than a wriggling suitcase that we are told contains an infant walker. But, I suppose our imaginations can be worse than actually seeing something.
What did you think? Did the walker infant cross a line?
