Jennifer Akerman and Tom Payne expecting first child

Fans of The Walking Dead remember Tom Payne’s character Jesus (Paul Rovia) fondly. Payne brought such life to this character, who looked like he walked off the comic story page. After Jesus was killed, Payne has gone on to do some other outstanding projects. He is coming upon a new milestone in his life as he and his wife, Jennifer Akerman, announced that they are expecting their first child.

Payne portrayed Jesus on The Walking Dead series from season six to the ninth season when the Whisperers killed him in one of the most unexpected deaths in the series.

After leaving The Walking, Dead Payne went on to star in Prodigal Son that aired on Fox. He played Malcolm Bright, son of serial killer Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen). Bright is a former FBI profiler who now works for the NYPD as he can view crimes from the killer’s perspective. This is something that causes him to live in constant fear of becoming like his father.

In 2018, Payne announced his engagement to Jennifer Akerman on an episode of Talking Dead, the series that breakdowns episodes in The Walking Dead universe. Akerman would then go on to announce her excitement that they were married in December 2020. Their wedding was postponed in April 2020 due to the pandemic, so they instead had a quiet ceremony at the end of 2020.

People has reported the great news that the couple is expecting their first child, a boy due at the end of the year.

Akerman is known professionally as the singer Final Child. She released her new music video for the song “South of the Border.” Payne played The Priest in the video, and the surprise ending was their pregnancy announcement. Check it out below.
