Fear the Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: It’s always something
By Liam O'Leary
Fear the Walking Dead, accept reality
The other day, I talked to a co-worker who was recounting some of his recent health problems, and he gave me a bit of wisdom. He said that while he would try to take care of himself, he realized that you couldn’t control what happens; you have to deal with it as best as you can and live your life.
This is what living in a zombie apocalypse is all about. While I often talk about being prepared for it, you can’t control everything that happens even if you’re ready. For all you know, something might happen that you either didn’t or couldn’t prepare for, and you just have to deal with that problem as best as you can, and try to move forward.
That’s my point this week. You can prepare for countless problems in the apocalypse, but it won’t prevent problems. There will always be some problem that you have to deal with and, when the problems reach you, you have to deal with them.
This is why you can’t just walk away from people you care about in the apocalypse out of fear of problems that might arise because there will always be problems. No one problem is worth walking away from people because it doesn’t solve the problem, and, if it weren’t that specific problem, there’d be another one, so you might as well try to make yourself the happiest you can be while dealing with problems as they come.
That’s how you survive the zombie apocalypse. That’s how you live.
And that’s our Walking Dead Survival Rule Of The Week! A zombie apocalypse is dangerous, but that’s the thing: It will always be dangerous. There will always be something coming down the pike to threaten you, so, you might as well just make the best of the situation you find yourself in, rather than make things worse when you don’t have to.
