Fear the Walking Dead season 7 midseason finale, Padre
By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead will air its midseason finale for season seven on December 5 on AMC. The episode is titled “Padre,” and viewers will finally get more information about this term. We have heard the term throughout this season, and it will be interesting to find out exactly what it is.
Strand has gone full-on villain in this season and is comfortably situated in his tower. We saw him sit for his portrait in the seventh episode, and as the episode started, he quoted Oscar Wilde “every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.” He made it very clear that he wanted a portrait of himself. The artist assured him she could complete the task.
This shows us how much Strand wants to be in the spotlight. He wants to accomplish what he says Morgan couldn’t do, establish a community that will last. And, he wants to be sure he gets all the credit for this.
Strand and Howard have started to differ in their opinions of how to populate the tower. Will this eventually cause strife between these two?

The previous episode revealed that Alicia is alive and well and a leader of the new group, the Stalkers. We’ve seen the Stalkers throughout this season as they have been the ones who have taken the clothes off the walkers, with no explanation for this act.
Morgan was brought to Alicia by Sherry and Dwight because she needs his help. The episode ends as walkers who were strapped with parts of the nuclear warhead, explode sending a poisonous gas into the air.

The promo below for the midseason finale shows flashbacks to Alicia’s time in the bunker that Teddy locked her in. The Franklin Hotel was a bunker created by the U.S. government in the 1950s. This bunker was a place for government officials to hole up in case of a nuclear war. The Franklin Hotel went bankrupt, and the underground facility had been forgotten about. That is until Riley found a newspaper article about it. Teddy decided to use this as a backup, and when the Holding was destroyed, he moved many of his cult members there and Alicia so they could restart the world after the nuclear explosion.
In the trailer, you can see that the secret folder that Alicia finds is titled P.A.D.R.E. marked as classified and the U.S. seal. The subtitle reads: Rebuilding Our Country’s Future. This bunker was set to hold many people in the event of nuclear war, and the government obviously had plans on what to do next.
Will this plan be helpful to Alicia, Morgan, and the rest?
