Fear the Walking Dead Madison return mirrors Maggie’s on Walking Dead
By Renee Hansen
Fear the Walking Dead’s seventh season has been quite dynamic because the nuclear bomb has drastically altered the atmosphere and landscape. We have also witnessed Strand’s transformation into a villain. Alicia has finally reappeared, and recently we learned that Madison will return to the storyline.
AMC built up our excitement about a major announcement on Talking Dead. Fans speculated what that announcement would be, and the guesses ranged from TWD movie news to new spin-offs and so on.
It was finally revealed by the promised special guest, Kim Dickens, that Fear TWD would see the return of Madison Clark in the second half of the season, and she would go on into the eight as well.
Kim Dickens returns to Fear the Walking Dead
Fans of Madison Clark have pleaded for showrunners to bring her back into the fold. The last we saw of her was in season four, when she sacrificed herself to save everyone. Many speculated that she could have easily survived and return to the series. That is exactly what has happened, and fans will see her once again when the series returns to AMC on April 17 with the midseason premiere.
Many things have occurred since we last saw her, including the death of her son Nick. It will be heartbreaking news for her to learn of his death. The other piece to this story is the fact that Nick’s killer, Charlie, is now a member of the group and a close friend of Alicia’s.
This is reminiscent of Maggie’s return to The Walking Dead. She returns to find that Negan, who brutally killed her husband, has been released from prison and is a member of Alexandria. The other community members have witnessed Negan’s many redeeming actions and have slowly accepted him. Maggie only remembers the worst day of her life when Negan killed Glenn. This has been a significant storyline in that series eleventh and final season.
Madison will not take the news of Nick’s death well. Losing a child is a horrific thing, and then to learn that his killer is alive and has been accepted by Alicia, Daniel, and the others will be a tough pill to swallow. Will she want to kill Charlie for her actions? Or will she forgive her as Alicia has?
It is exciting when a character returns to any series, and Madison is a fan favorite that many have longed to see return. It will be interesting to see how she is reunited with everyone and what has transpired for her in her absence.
Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on April 17, 2022.
