Lieutenant Frank Newton and Brody

I’m not going to lie to you: I will not defend these two.

Honestly, was there anything of note that these two did that wasn’t bad? Sure, they did other things, but do you remember it? Did either one of them show any kind of regret for the things they did?

For example: If Brody, in selling out the group to Jadis, tried to make it seem like they’d forced the Perimeter into helping them to try to spare the community, I would make an argument for him. The thing is, he didn’t. He made a point of trying to throw everyone under the bus so that he could get some cushy life inside the Civic Republic.

And as for Newton, well, what can I say? He wasn’t the mastermind behind any of the Civic Republic Military’s more nefarious operations. That’s it. When the best thing you can say about a guy is, “He was just a henchman, not the real villain.”, that’s not a ringing endorsement of said guy’s virtues.

This is why I’m not defending these two: They gave me nothing to defend them with.
