Walking Dead actor Corey Hawkins’ character Heath may have never been seen again in the series, but fans love seeing all the projects he has done since then. On December 25, you can see Hawkins in his newest role as Macduff in The Tragedy of Macbeth.

This thriller film, written and directed by Joel Coen, marks the first film solo Coen Brother production. The film is based on Macbeth, a play by William Shakespeare. Macbeth is a Scottish Lord who is told by three witches that he will be the next King of Scotland. Aided by his wife, they will stop at nothing to ensure he takes the crown. These actions, of course, have consequences, resulting in the duo harboring guilt that leads to paranoia and many other tragedies.

The film also stars Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand, Bertie Carvel, Alex Hassell, Harry Melling, Brendan Gleeson, Moses Ingram and Stephen Root.

The Tragedy of Macbeth saw its premiere at the New York Film Festival this year and will have a limited theater release on December 25. On January 14, 2022, this film will be available on Apple TV+.

Rotten Tomatoes has given the film a 98% rating siting “Led by a stellar Denzel Washington, The Tragedy of Macbeth strips the classic story down to its visual and narrative essentials.”

The Walking Dead, Corey Hawkins as Heath

In the season seven episode “Swear,” Heath and Tara (Alanna Masterson) encounter a small horde of walkers and are separated. When Tara returns, she finds his broken glasses and a card with PPP written on it. That is the last we ever see or hear about Heath. Even when Tara returns alone, no one questions Heath’s absence.

Showrunner Angela Kang has confirmed that he was traded by Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) to the CRM. This writer hoped that we would see him in The Walking Dead: World Beyond as a CRM soldier. But, alas, that didn’t happen.  Perhaps we will never see him again in TWD universe.

Since leaving The Walking Dead, Hawkins has been involved in many fabulous projects. He has starred in Kong: Skull Island, BlacKkKlansman, 6 Underground, Survive, Dust and In the Heights.

Next, he will star in a horror film, Last Voyage of the Demeter, an adaptation of a chapter from Dram Stoker’s Dracula titled “The Captain’s Log.” This film tells the story of the merchant ship Demeter and the strange events experienced by the crew.

Next. The Walking Dead season 11 Aisha Tyler will direct in final season. dark

Hawkins will also star in a film adaptation of The Color Purple musical. He will play the role of Harpo Johnson, husband to Sofia.

Be sure to catch Corey Hawkins in all his memorable roles.
