Norman Reedus Marvel connection? Will he play Ghost Rider?
By Renee Hansen
The conversations around who will play Ghost Rider in the MCU have been ongoing for quite some time. Several sites have circulated reports that Charles Murphy, founder of Founder Murphy’s Multiverse, Tweeted that Marvel has chosen its Ghost Rider. Fans have gone crazy hoping that Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus will play the role.
Keanu Reeves’ name has long been tied to who fans think should play this character. Reports have circulated that Murphy’s deleted tweet has said that Marvel has chosen the actor for this role, and it isn’t Reeves but that he is happy with the choice if the deal goes through.
After the news about Murphy’s supposed comment broke, Reedus reposted from Marvel Movies IG page (not an official MCU page) a Ghost Rider fanart photo by mizuriau with the caption stating that Marvel has chosen their Ghost Rider. This, along with the fact that Reedus favorited many Ghost Rider posts supporting him being cast, have once again fueled the rumors and finds Norman Reedus trending on Twitter.
During a Twitter Q&A session, Murphy made this comment which neither confirms nor denies anything.
Norman Reedus as Ghost Rider
Norman Reedus fans have long expressed their desire to see the actor in the role of Ghost Rider. Since Reedus is an avid motorcycle rider, it seems like a great fit. In July 2021, Reedus told ComicBook.com that he is still interested in portraying the character.
"The Ghost Rider conversation has been coming up for years, and yeah, tell them to put me in it. I want to play Ghost Rider."
If Reedus does get cast in this role, he will become even busier than ever. He will finish filming for The Walking Dead in early 2022, leading to the spin-off series of his Walking Dead character, Daryl Dixon, and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride).
He is also on board for the next installment of the Boondock Saints film franchise, where he plays one of the MacManus brothers, Murphy, alongside Sean Patrick Flanery’s Connor. Not to mention his numerous artistic projects and family time with his daughter and fiance Diane Kruger.
Walking Dead fans would be excited to see another actor from TWDU world enter the MCU. As of right now, there has been no confirmation that Reedus will portray Ghost Rider, but if a deal is in the works, the world will soon know who has been cast.
