The Walking Dead: World Beyond series has ended its two-season run. Many of the character’s stories ended with them going their separate ways to carry out their missions towards a better world. Some characters met their end. This includes Robert Palmer Watkins’ character, Lt. Frank Newton.

Newton was a CRM soldier who was very loyal to the military and their cause. He was a bulldog who would do what needed to be done to ensure that the CRM was moving forward. From his introduction, Newton was a character you loved to hate. This speaks highly of Watkin’s ability to play a bad guy.

His end was outstanding as he was pitted against Felix (Nico Tortorella), who was also trained in combat. This scene was played out during the season finale, and viewers watched, unsure of which character would meet his end.

Robert Palmer Watkins new single to release on New Year’s Eve

Watkins is also a musician, and while filming World Beyond, he used the title Walking Dead as inspiration for his newest single. He titled the song “Walking Dead,” even tho it has nothing to do with zombies or the apocalypse.

As he was filming, he was inspired by the thought that ending a relationship, which he has done recently, is a bit like being undead as you go through the motions devoid of feeling. Both partners end up being like zombies as the relationship slowly dies.

In an interview with Digital Journal, he shared the news of his single that will be released on New Year’s Eve.

"“I was filing the show ‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond’ and I’ve been in several relationships, where towards the end of those relationships, I felt like I was going through the motions. I was going in circles and it felt like I was ‘walking dead.’ I was trying to make something work that was stale and kind of dead, and both partners become zombies in the relationship. I was inspired by the title while I was filming the show, so I started writing a song with Eric Zayne, Chris Oliver, and Brendan Martin. Rom Zayne also served as a producer with Leah Sturgis as executive producer.”"
