The Walking Dead promo, what does it mean for Daryl Dixon?

The Walking Dead will soon release part two of three of season 11, the final for the flagship series. Rest assured, The Walking Dead universe is far from over, with many other series and movies in the works. But, with a final season, no one is safe, and there could be many lives lost. What about characters who have survived the duration of the series like Daryl?

Daryl Dixon is played by Norman Reedus and first appeared in the third episode of season one, “Tell it to the Frogs.” He came on the scene fresh off a hunt for food, and viewers quickly learned this character’s personality. He was none too pleased to learn that his brother Merle was left handcuffed on a roof in Atlanta.

Throughout the series, Daryl has drastically changed from a rough and tough redneck whose only care was for him and his brother into a leader who cares for others and would do almost anything for those he loves.

There has yet to be a lot of promotion for the second part of the finale season. A teaser trailer was released at the part one finale that shows many things are coming. Fans have been waiting for a new trailer for part two, but nothing has been released as of today.

One small crumb was released on social media with the caption “Daryl’s come a long way since the beginning.” This featured an early photo of Daryl on what appears to be the wall of the lost from the Commonwealth. This is the wall where Yumiko found out that her long-lost brother Tomi lives in that community.

So, what does this mean for Daryl?

The wall of the lost is where family and friends post photos and information about loved ones they are searching for. Daryl’s mother was killed when he was a child, and his brother was killed earlier in the series. Who else would be looking for him? We don’t know much about his father other than he was violently abusive, and he was a playable character for a short time in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct game. His story in the game ended when a walker bit him. Daryl has never mentioned a lot about family or friends from before the outbreak, so this promo makes one think about what it could mean.

Perhaps it is just a promo, but that seems unlikely. What do you think this means for Daryl in the upcoming episodes? With Daryl and Carol set to have their spin-off, it’s improbable that any harm will come to him, but this is The Walking Dead, so only time will tell.
