The Walking Dead season 11 returns in 35 days on AMC
By Renee Hansen
Fans of The Walking Dead are counting down the days until the series returns to AMC. The final season will be released in three parts, each containing eight episodes. Part one began airing on August 22 and finished on October 10, 2021. The next installment for this season will premiere in February.
As part of the promotions for the final season, AMC+ previously released a mini-series titled Walking Dead: Origins that consisted of four episodes, each with a focus on one character. Daryl, Maggie, Negan and Carol each had their episode that featured a deeper look at each character with clips, exclusive interviews, and narrations from the actors who portray the characters.
To carry viewers up to season 11, episode 9, AMC will air these episodes beginning January 23 and each consecutive Sunday leading to the premiere date of February 20.
The Walking Dead season 11 part 2 premiere
As mentioned above, the premiere date for part two of season 11 will be February 20 on AMC. Subscribers to AMC+ will be able to view this episode one week earlier, on February 13.
Much is expected of the final season as many storylines need to be concluded before the series ends. Showrunner Angela Kang has said that the second part of the season will have a different vibe, new people will be introduced, and the world will open up more.
Many fans want to see the return of Rick Grimes before the series is completed, but there has been no news about his appearance. Hopefully, if this does happen, they keep the information under wraps, and viewers find out when/if it happens in the series and not before in a press release.
As the series wraps up, it will most likely lead into the movies and the Daryl and Carol spin-off that we know very little about. Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, has said this series will be very different from the flagship series.
