Fear the Walking Dead: No supplies means NO victory

Just before Alicia declared war on Strand, she asked Morgan how long his supplies would last at the Pennsylvania, to which Morgan estimated a little over a week. This is a terrible situation to declare war in.

Realistically, if Strand wanted to, he could wait Morgan and Alicia’s group out and let them run their supplies dry. No matter how numerous they may be, a starving army isn’t much match against a well-fed one.

If you’re thinking about going to war with people in a zombie apocalypse, you really need to consider your supplies. You may not necessarily have to worry about protecting supply routes the way militaries traditionally do. Still, you do have to worry about whether or not you’re going to have enough supplies to withstand a protracted conflict.

In a circumstance like Alicia and Morgan’s, where you’d only have a week or two of supplies available, your enemy could just wait you out. They could lay siege to your base, forcing you to run through what little food you have and then roll in as your entire group is starving to death.

If you don’t have supplies for a long haul or don’t have the means to beat your enemy quickly, maybe getting into a conflict with other people in a zombie apocalypse is a bad idea.
