The Walking Dead Origins looking back at Daryl Dixon

AMC has released The Walking Dead: Origins airing Sundays leading up to the premiere of season 11B of The Walking Dead. This series was previously only available to AMC+ subscribers. The first episode focuses on everyone’s favorite crossbow welding walker killer, Daryl Dixon, who Norman Reedus portrays.
The first thing we see in this spotlight on Daryl is his introduction to the series. Daryl was written for the series, as many other characters have been, so no one knew what to expect from this character. He comes on the scene where he takes his frustration out on a walker who has chosen to eat the deer Daryl had been tracking.
Norman Reedus narrates the episode, and he says, you need to know two things about Daryl Dixon. “He speaks his mind, and he knows what he is doing.”
The Walking Dead Origins – Daryl’s story
Reedus goes on to say that Daryl was the most equipped for an apocalypse and was initially a loner. He would eventually become part of a chosen family and a leader among them.
The episode features a great new take on the theme song that seems fitting for Daryl. We also see many iconic moments of Daryl’s life in the series. We see his first altercation with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), which was anything but friendly, who would become a man he would eventually think of as a brother.
As the series is in its final season, this origin story is a wonderful look back at one of the longest surviving members of the original Atlanta group.
The Walking Dead season 11 – Daryl Dixon
As the final season airs, we see Daryl at a point where he is torn between a woman he thought he knew and the family he knows. He was betrayed by Leah and was left with Maggie, Negan, Elijah, and Gabriel in the midst of a fight with the Reapers. The trailer shows that Daryl does survive, but we will have to wait to see how the battle is finished.
