The Walking Dead season 11 part 1 recap to prepare for part 2

The Walking Dead will return to AMC in less than one month with part 2 of season 11, otherwise known as season 11B. The first part of the three-part final season was action-packed, and the finale left viewers with some significant cliffhangers.

As the series heads into the second set of eight episodes, viewers anxiously await what will come next. The trailer for these episodes shows that a significant focus will be on the Commonwealth, and much more will be revealed about this community. The much-talked-about but never seen governor, Pamela Milton will be introduced.

The Commonwealth soldiers are seen at the gates of Alexandria.  Many of the Alexandria residents will be transplanted to the Commonwealth.

We also see that the Reapers will be a focus as well. This storyline was one of the major cliffhangers at the end of episode 8.

The Walking Dead season 11 – key moments

Negan and Maggie – this ongoing tension between the two leaves viewers with the thought that one could kill the other at any moment. Then seemed to call a truce; for the time being, only time will tell what will happen next. He has even trained her in the art of being a Whisperer.

Daryl – reunites with Leah and becomes a Reaper to keep on the inside at Meridian to aid Maggie and the rest. Leah then betrays him by killing Pope and blaming Daryl.

Eugene – gets caught trying to contact Alexandria AND slugs the governor’s rotten son, Sebastian. He isn’t making a very good impression on the Commonwealth higher-ups. He was given an ultimatum; reveal the location of Alexandria or serve time in prison.

Connie and Virgil – the good news is Connie is back; the bad news is she and Virgil had to endure a horror movie in the house where they took refuge. The house was inhabited by feral’s who tried to kill them.

March on Meridian – Maggie, Elijah and Negan lead a herd of walkers to Meridian disguised as walkers. This will begin the Reapers war, which ended as Leah ordered a hwacha fired upon them.

Storm at Alexandria – the community was already in dire straights, and then a storm, a fire, and a horde of walkers created even more problems. Many of the group were still MIA at the end of the episode.

There isn’t much longer to wait until The Walking Dead season 11 episode 9 premiers on AMC on February 20. Even less of a wait if you are an AMC+ subscriber, this episode will be available on that service on February 13.
