Zombie comic Dead Day to become a series for Peacock
By Renee Hansen
Listen up, Walking Dead fans, another zombie-themed series will be created by Scream creator Kevin Williamson and his Vampire Diaries co-creator, Julie Plec for Peacock. Aftershock Comics reports that the pair will serve as showrunners, executive producers, and writers for the series Dead Day.
The series is based on a comic series by Ryan Parrott, also titled Dead Day, that sees an average family as they prepare for the macabre annual even where the dead come to life. Aftershock Comics published the comics in 2020. Parrott will also serve as a consulting producer for the series.
The story follows what appears to be an average family, the Haskins, as they gear up for the annual Dead Day holiday. On this day, the deceased rise from the dead for 24 hours as some visit friends and family while others use this day to get revenge.
