Fear the Walking Dead – you’re not alone

I think it’s important to state right off the top that you’re almost certainly not going to be the only person trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Obvious? Yes, but people often overlook the obvious, especially when they’re not constantly reminded of it. As such, the consequences of these obvious things, these things we know are there but don’t always see, can sometimes be confusing, even if they seem perfectly normal when we step back and look at the bigger picture.

For example: As you try to make your way in the apocalypse, you will find at some point that supplies will be harder and harder to come by. While you probably won’t run into them all the time, you need to recognize that there’s a good chance that you won’t be the only person in the area scrounging for supplies, meaning that what little is there is being split between you.

Once you realize this, you can adjust your behavior to deal with this problem. For instance, changing routes to prevent being followed. Or changing the time of day to look for supplies.

Another thing you need to realize is that if you’re finding the dead have been stirred up in a particular area that might be of value, there’s a good chance another person has been the one doing the stirring. Use this to your advantage. If you see zombies congregating, try to find another way around to where you’re going. If you see zombies milling about, maybe try stirring them behind you so that, if someone’s following you, they now have to get through an undead minefield, rather than casually sneak in behind you.
