Walking Dead universe: Kevin Carroll, Nick Stahl in Let the Right One In
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead actor Kevin Carroll and Fear the Walking Dead’s Nick Stahl will star in a new series for Showtime. Let the Right One In is a new vampire series based on the 2004 novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
Carroll portrays Virgil in The Walking Dead series, which after getting a second chance from Michonne, decides to help out others. He finds Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and helps her get back to her family. Virgil will appear in more episodes during season 11.
In Fear the Walking, Stahl portrayed Riley as one of cult leader Teddy Maddox’s (John Glover) minions. He was killed before the nuclear bombs went off.
The series is produced by Tomorrow Studios (Cowboy Bebop, Snowpiercer) with Andrew Inderaker as showrunner. Seith Mann directed the pilot and other episodes for the first season, which has been ordered for a 10 episode season.
The novel inspired two movies, a Swedish film in 2008 and another film, Let Me In, released in 2010 directed by Matt Reeves.

In addition to Carroll and Stahl, the series stars Demián Bichir, Anika Noni Rose, Grace Gummer, Zeljko Ivanek, Larry Pine, Madison Taylor Baez, Kevin Carroll, Ian Foreman and Jacob Buster.
The series will tell the story of Mark (Bichir) and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), who was turned into a vampire 10 years prior. She was 12 years old at the time and is locked into that age, is only able to venture out at night, and her father does what he can to provide the much-needed human blood she needs for survival.
Deadline reports that Stahl has been cast as Matthew, a former soldier whose clean-cut exterior belies savagery beneath.
In December 2021, Variety reported that Carroll was cast in this series. He will play Zeke Dawes, Mark’s trusted friend and restaurant owner who knows about Eleanor’s condition.
