The Walking Dead season 11 Survival Rule of the Week

Perhaps the most dangerous thing to a survivor in a zombie apocalypse may not be the walking dead but living enemies, who used to be friends. The second part of season eleven of The Walking Dead is rapidly approaching, so I thought it was high time I shifted focus back to this series.

When we last left our favorite group of survivors, Daryl, in trying to stop one of the Reapers, Ancheta, from launching a makeshift rocket barrage at his friends, kills him. This drew the ire of his former lover, Leah, who saw the rest of her group as her family and attempted to have the remainder of her comrades kill Daryl, Maggie, and Negan.

Meanwhile, in The Commonwealth, Eugene, after punching a snot-nosed jerk at the outskirts of the community after saving him from walkers, is imprisoned, as the aforementioned jerk happened to be Sebastian, the son of Governor Milton. Desperate and faced with serious jail time, he is approached by Lance Hornsby, the director of operations for the Commonwealth. While Hornsby had been helping Eugene up to this point, he informs him that his actions are beyond solving unless Eugene tells Hornsby where his community is located.

The one thing both situations have in common is that someone believed to be a friend (Or, at least, friendly) becomes someone who is not friendly. I expect these developments will put Alexandria and its occupants in extreme danger when the season returns. The “friends” of Daryl and Eugene know information that an overt enemy wouldn’t know. In this week’s Survival Rule Of The Week, I will tackle just how dangerous this kind of development can be.
