The Walking Dead – will you want to fight your friend?

If you find yourself in a situation similar to the one Daryl now finds himself in The Walking Dead, you’re not going to be fighting someone who you knew for a few weeks; this is going to be someone that you loved. How do you go to war with that person? How do you commit yourself to battle against this person, knowing that you may have to kill them? Can you?

I ask this because the relationship between you and your erstwhile friend is not something that can be so easily discarded (or, at least, shouldn’t be) and will almost certainly become an issue as your conflict with them wears on. Your past with this enemy will always be lingering in your thoughts to some capacity and could hinder your effectiveness in combating them.

Will you be able to do what you need to do to protect yourself and your group against this person? If they attack someone close to you, will they use lethal force to stop them? It may be the only option you have. Are you sure that you will be able to do it? And, perhaps more importantly, is the rest of your group sure that you will?
