It’s National Umbrella Day, and what better way to celebrate that with a short starring Walking Dead actress, Sabrina Gennarino? In The Walking Dead world, she portrayed one of the Heapsters named Tamiel, a right hand to Pollyanna McIntosh’s Jadis. In season eight, she was killed by one of the Saviors named Simon (Steven Ogg), and then her reanimated remains were crushed in the trash compactor by Jadis.

Gennarino has been acting since the late 90s and is known for her roles in Guiding Light, Criminal Minds, The Monkey’s Paw, 13 Sins, NCIS: New Orleans, Claws, After, The Purge and many others.

She starred in the movie Darlin’, which was written and directed by Pollyanna McIntosh, who also starred in the film. This is the third film in a trilogy of standalone stories, including Offspring and The Woman. This film also stars TWD actors Cooper Andrews, who plays Jerry, and fellow Heapster Brion, who Thomas Francis Murphy played. McIntosh has described this film as “a social issue horror film.”

Gennarino has recently been a part of a scripted podcast titled Black Box. A Reverb Podcast production, this story is a sci-fi adventure where four teens discover a wreaked time machine and the black box containing recordings foretelling of a disaster. You can list to season one on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and wherever else you listen to podcasts.

The Walking Dead’s Sabrina Gennarino in Death of an Umbrella Salesman

Gennarino, Kevin Kolack, Robert Casiello, Ronelle Thomas and more star in the short film Death of an Umbrella Salesman directed by Steven Herold who co-wrote the film with James L. Palmer.

The story follows Stanley Grimp (Kolack), a door-to-door umbrella salesman who just needs to make a sale to avoid paying his ex-wife alimony. As each door is slammed in his face, he becomes more desperate.

Although this appears to be set in modern times, due to the use of cell phones and online shopping, everything else about this feels like it is set in the 50s. The black and white filming also lends to that feel.

Available to rent or buy on Amazon, you should really check this one out. Especially since it is National Umbrella Day and stars Sabrina Gennarino, one of our TWD Family members.
