Norman Reedus to collaborate with Henson TV to create adventure series
By Renee Hansen
Henson TV president Halle Stanford has told Variety that The Jim Henson Company will collaborate with The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus in a live-action magical series.
The Jim Henson Company sold the Muppets to Disney and the Sesame Street characters to Sesame Workshop, so now the focus has shifted to creating new originals and expanding franchises they still own, such as Fraggle Rock.
Reedus will create a brand new universe for The Henson Co. with the creative team, The Frouds, who will design the new creatures for this project. The Frouds are the creature and concept designers who worked on other Henson projects, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and the Netflix original series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
Stanford told Variety that Reedus was excited at the prospect of creating this series and working with the Frouds. Reedus replied:
"(that is) an understatement. They are masters in the fantasy world-building space. I mean, a show about goblins, trolls and otherworldly creatures? There’s nobody in the universe better suited for that than the Henson Company."

Creating a new magical series will be a fantastic adventure for Reedus, who is coming off the 11 season run of The Walking Dead. This series will wind up filming in March, and next, he is set to star in a spin-off series in that universe that will focus on his character Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). He is also on board for the third film in The Boondock Saints franchise. These projects will keep him busy, but Reedus always finds ways to include new projects.
He is a multi-talented artist that recently wrote a book titled The Ravaged that is set to release on April 5, 2022. Gallery Poulsen featured an exhibit of his photography in Copenhagen titled Live the Life You Love.
There have been many reports that Reedus could also play Ghost Rider in the MCU. In an exclusive interview with Comicbook.com, he addressed the rumors stating
"Fingers crossed, I don’t know. There’s been a lot of talk over the last couple years. I do not have an answer for you."
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on February 20 and AMC+ on February 13.
