On February 17, 2013, AMC aired the tenth episode of the third season of The Walking Dead titled “Home.” This episode was written by Nichole Beattie and directed by Seith Mann.

This episode sees Rick having visions of Lori once again, this time outside near the graves at the prison. He approaches her, and she touches his face. Michonne watches from afar; confusion clouds her face.

Andrea and the Governor discuss her taking over as leader of Woodbury. He also tells her there will be no retaliation against Rick and his group. The Governor asks Milton to keep tabs on Andrea, as he is unsure where her loyalties lie.

Merle and Daryl are still on their own, but Daryl quickly gets tired of Merle and feels they should go back to the prison. Merle tells him he can’t go back as he almost killed Michonne and Glenn. Merle continues to berate Daryl and his new behaviors of saving people he doesn’t know. Daryl tells him that he will be going back to prison. They fight a bit, and Merle grabs at Daryl’s shirt, which rips, revealing scars from beatings he received from his father, horrifying Merle.

During this episode, Glenn is really struggling with what happened to Maggie at the hands of the Governor. He is ready to head back to Woodbury to kill him, but Hershel tries to talk sense into him. He takes a car and drives off.

Carol and Axel have some good conversations while fortifying the fence on the bridge. Suddenly, Axel is hit with a bullet in the head. The shot was taken by the Governor, who found his way to the prison to stage an attack despite what he told Andrea.

Rick’s group runs for cover as Maggie comes out of the cellblock with weapons, evening things out a bit. As they fire on their enemies, the Governor’s men unload a truckload of walkers at the prison; this is known as a “walker bomb.”

As the Governor drives away from the prison, he passes Glenn, who has returned to the prison.

Rick is outside the fence and surrounded by walkers. When he is about to get bit, a crossbow bolt hits the walker in the head. This action lets the viewers know that Daryl and Merle have returned.

The episode ends with Rick starring at the courtyard full of walkers.

“Home” marks the 25th episode for Sarah Wayne Callies and Norman Reedus.
