In part two of season 11 of The Walking Dead, the first two episodes had very different tones. The first was action-packed and tied up some significant cliffhangers, with the second taking place in the Commonwealth as many Alexandria residents acclimate to this society.

The Reaper’s war is over, but viewers have undoubtedly not seen the last of Leah. She will return at some point, but when and where she will appear is yet to be seen. There has been a flash of her in a teaser video not dressed in her Reaper garb.

At the end of 1109, we saw Lance Hornsby, Eugene, and a group of Commonwealth soldiers descend on Alexandria. Hornsby offers to help get Alexandria repaired and back on its feet while providing a second choice of joining residents at the Commonwealth.

The next episode, “Rogue Element,” is currently available on AMC+. This episode will air on AMC on Sunday, March 6, at 9 p.m. ET.

Michael Cudlitz has returned as a director for this episode, so fans know it will be a good one. He has previously directed The Walking Dead episodes “Stradivarius,” “Silence the Whisperers,” and “Open Your Eyes.”  He directed two episodes from season 1 of The Walking Dead: World Beyond, “Shadow Puppets” and “Truth or Dare.”

From the teaser below, we see that Stephanie is missing and Eugene is concerned. Rosita and another Commonwealth solider seem to be investigating. Princess is trying to understand what Eugene is saying, that the government is possibly involved with Stephanie’s disappearance.

Carol is still aiding Hornsby in her quest to ensure Ezekiel gets this surgery. Connie and Kelly are also investigating something while Mercer gets into a bloody fight.

If you have read the comics, there are some critical storylines concerning the Commonwealth. Perhaps these will play out on screen, but it is hard to say since the series doesn’t always follow the comic story.
