Norman Reedus stars in Orville Peck’s new video
By Renee Hansen
Daryl Dixon will be jealous of how dirty and grubby Norman Reedus looks in the latest music video by Orville Peck for the song “The Curse of the Blackened Eye.”
Reedus plays Daryl on The Walking Dead, and it is a running joke about the fact that Daryl never showers. Reedus has even been known to put more dirt on himself before filming to look even grimier.
We get a great clip of Reedus dressed in a tux, which proves to all the naysayers that Reedus is a handsome man.
Norman Reedus The Curse of the Blackened Eye
Orville Peck is a pseudonym for the musician described as “older than 20 but younger than 40” who wears a mask while he performs. Sources have speculated that he could be Daniel Pitout, a drummer for the Canadian punk band Nü Sensae. This speculation is based on the similarity of tattoos and Peck stating he has been in a punk band.
The video below shows Peck as he is followed around by “the Curse,” who Reedus plays. Dressed in dark western clothing, Reedus follows Peck at many events, sometimes appearing as a friend, others as the curse. Some fans have speculated this song is about depression, and “the curse” is always lingering, closer when he is alone.
Others believe he is trying to outrun an old love. This is why we see Reedus clean in the tux during the bright times in the relationship. When he is the curse, he is haunting Peck, like the ghost of relationships past.
Peck has released four songs on his upcoming Bronco 2 album “The Curse of the Blackened Eye,” “Kalahari Down,” “Trample Out the Days,” and “Hexie Mountains.” The entire album will release on April 8.
Reedus is no stranger to appearing in music videos. He began appearing in music videos in 1992 when he first appeared in Keith Richard’s “Wicked as It Seems.”
He would appear in other videos by Björk, R.E.M., Radiohead, Lady Gaga and Jihae. He will also have some part in the Møtivatiøn collaborative album.
