The Walking Dead, Rogue Element: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
The Walking Dead season 11
1) This week’s “Previously on The Walking Dead” is voiced by Melissa McBride. We looked back at Eugene and Stephanie’s time on walker-killing duty, Carol making a deal with Lance Hornsby to move Ezekiel up the waiting list for surgery, Princess and Yumiko recognizing Tyler Davis from their initial interrogation by the Commonwealth. We also see Hornsby telling Eugene that he needs to know the name of his community and how to get there to free him from jail. Magna tells Rosita that the Commonwealth is just like a pre-apocalypse city (In terms of its economics and social structure), and Rosita finds Tyler’s stash of anti-Commonwealth propaganda.
2) If Stephanie’s apartment is anything to go by, it would appear that the Commonwealth upgrades apartments for “lower classes” by equipping them with heavy steel doors and ladders, almost certainly measures to ensure walkers neither get in or out.
3) According to Connie’s editor, the Commonwealth military is saying that Tyler’s actions at the end of the previous week’s episode was the result of PTSD, effectively using a claim of psychological issues to discredit his broader claims against the system, a frightening tactic used to significant effect in the Soviet Union.
4) After leaving the editor’s office, Kelly and Connie continue to discuss Tyler using sign language, which the captions make a point of mentioning. This is interesting because, being sign language, it doesn’t make any noise the captions would need to describe.
