Norman Reedus suffered a concussion on The Walking Dead set
By Renee Hansen
Fans of Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus have been greatly concerned since reports that he had been injured on set started circulating. There wasn’t a lot of information, but Deadline has talked to Reedus’ spoke person Jeffrey Chassen who stated that the actor “suffered a concussion on set.” Chassen has noted the injury occurred on March 11. He also thanked everyone for the concern and assured fans that Reedus would return to work soon.
The injury will set production for the final episode of The Walking Dead back a few days. Production for the last episode of the series began on March 7. Cinematographer Duane Charles Manwiller has kept fans abreast of the filming schedule via Instagram. He has posted photos almost every day, counting the days until filming is complete.
Norman Reedus injured on set
The news about Reedus’s injury first broke when Fandemic Tour posted on social media that Reedus would have to postpone his appearance at the event. Fandemic Tour will take place March 18-20 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Reedus was scheduled to appear alongside many other Walking Dead talent and had a special photo op scheduled with Boondock Saints actors Sean Patrick Flannery and David Della Rocco.
Previously, Reedus was injured during the filming of the season 5 episode “Them.” Reports stated that he cut up his arm, which was captured on film but didn’t make the episode.
The Walking Dead series will air its final episode later in 2022, with many spin-offs set to release. Reedus will get his own spin-off with Melissa McBride as Daryl and Carol head off on their own.
Our best wishes to Norman Reedus for a speedy recovery!
