Norman Reedus update: actor states he is “getting better” after injury
By Renee Hansen
Walking Dead actor, Norman Reedus has had a rough couple of weeks. He was injured on set, and his favorite pet, Eye in the Dark, crossed the rainbow bridge. He must also be experiencing some heavy emotions as the series is filming the final episode.
Reedus has portrayed Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead since episode three of season one of the series and is one of the two remaining original characters. Viewers all know that Rick Grimes is still alive, but this character has yet to return to the series.
Daryl is one of the many characters who has undergone massive changes since he was first introduced. Gone is the wall he had built up around himself, and now he has made himself part of the leadership of the communities. He has also taken up care of Rick and Michonne’s children, Judith and RJ.
Norman Reedus injury
On March 11, Reedus suffered a concussion on the set of the series. This news was first announced on social media by Fandamic Tour. Reedus was slated to appear at Fandemic this weekend but had to cancel as he recovers.
Reedus posted an update on Instagram, thanking fans for their concern and that he is “getting better” and is scheduled to return to work on March 22.
He also thanked everyone for the messages of condolence about the loss of his cat, Eye in the Dark.
The injury has set filming back a few days, but things will get rolling again this week. The Walking Dead will air its final episode later in the year, but Reedus will continue in the universe with a spinoff series. He and Carol (Melissa McBride) will star in their own series that has yet to have a name. There is little known about this series, only that it will look much different from the flagship.
It is so good to hear that Reedus is on the mend, and filming will continue this week.
