The Walking Dead season 11

Prepare for things to go awry.

While much of this week’s episode of The Walking Dead focused on Maggie and company fighting off the Commonwealth military at Riverbend, we also saw how Daryl and Rosita enjoy being cops at the Commonwealth, especially when the douchebag son of the most prominent politician in the community asks for a favor.

After embarrassing Sebastian, who was asking for it by expecting Daryl to vouch for his conduct around rotters, Daryl and Rosita were convinced to make a dangerous run into the abandoned home of Sebastian’s long-dead friend to retrieve a stash of money.

Daryl and Rosita needed to reactivate the electricity inside the house to get to the money in question. The moment they tried opening the electronically sealed door, they also activated the house’s alarm system, ensuring that every walker in and around the house converged on their position.

I always say you should have backup plans because it is so easy for your original plan to go to pot and force you to have abandoned it.

If you have backup plans in the event things go sideways on you, you don’t have to scramble to think up a plan while zombies are trying to surround you. Instead, you can go to Plan B and continue with whatever you are doing.

Nothing ever goes perfectly, but what separates problems from disasters is being prepared for them, which means having a plan ready if and when issues arise.
