Next week will wrap up season 11B of The Walking Dead. This will be the final episode until later in the year, when the remaining eight episodes of the series will air. It was a sad day this past week when the series wrapped filming on the final episode of the series after twelve years.

Last week’s episode, “The Rotton Core,” dug deeper into the sideways dealings of Hornsby and his new hitman Carlson. The battle raged on at Riverbend, ending in all Commonwealth troopers, including Carlson, being killed. This doesn’t bode well for Hornsby’s plans.

This episode also saw a very tense scene between Negan and Maggie’s son Hershel. The young boy, figuring out that Negan is the bad man who killed his father, pulled a gun on him. This resulted in Negan confessing to what he did to Glenn. It was a highly emotional scene, and Negan later told Hershel that when he grows up, he can find Negan, and they will settle the matter once and for all.

Back at the Commonwealth, Sebastian coerced Rosita and Daryl into a scheme to retrieve cash from a house overrun by walkers. This is a scheme he had tried several other times with at least 40 other people, who all died in the process.

When Mercer discovered what Sebastian had been doing, he killed the two CW troopers who had been aiding him. This was a very uncharacteristic move that will most likely affect him later.

This episode ended with Carol meeting with Hornsby informing him of Sebastian’s scheme. He knew all about it and was glad it had finally been a success. He still believes Carol is on his side and understands how things need to be. The look on her face when she lives his office tells another story.

AMC will air season 11, episode 15, “Trust,” on Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET.

The Walking Dead Acts of God

The next episode, “Acts of God,” is currently available on AMC+. This episode will air on AMC on Sunday, April 10, at 9 p.m. ET.

This will be the final episode of season 11B and is the 169th episode of the series.  This episode was written by Nicole Mirante-Matthews and directed by Catriona McKenzie. Mirante-Matthews has previously written four other episodes for the series, including “We Are the End of the World” and “Rendition.” This marks the directorial debut in The Walking Dead universe for McKenzie.

This episode will undoubtedly leave viewers on a significant cliffhanger, as do most of the midseason finales. Maggie and the group remaining at Hilltop team up with the survivors of Riverbend against Hornsby and his Commonwealth troopers. Hornsby hires someone to kill Maggie.
