Where is Michonne in The Walking Dead?

Michonne Hawthorne was portrayed by Danai Guiria in The Walking Dead series. Her first appearance was in the season 2 finale, “Beside the Dying Fire,” when she rescues Andrea (Laurie Holden). Her introduction to the series was right from the comic story, and she would become one of the best characters in the series.

Michonne had a bit of a chip on her shoulder when she first arrived at the prison but eventually warmed to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group. She proved to be an asset as she was highly skilled with her katana and possessed a keen sense of intuition. Although she spent much of her time alone before finding Rick’s group, she quickly acclimated to being a member of their team and pulled her weight.

By the time they arrived at Alexandria, she was ready to be involved as a constable along with Rick. She would even become one of the prominent leaders of the communities in later seasons.

The Walking Dead – Where is Michonne?

After the explosion at the bridge in season 9 that appeared to cause Rick’s death, Michonne had a tough time. She continued to care for Judith as her own and gave birth to Rick’s son, RJ, which had to be bittersweet.

Always a woman of strength, she continued to do what was needed to protect her children and those she loves. She became very cautious and suspicious of newcomers, worrying about the safety of the community.

The group encounters a man named Virgil (Kevin Carroll). They see him first at a library where he assists Luke (Dan Fogler) and again when he arrives at Oceanside. He makes a deal with Michonne, and she follows him back to his home on Bloodworth island.

In the midseason finale of season 10, the pair arrive at the island, and Michonne eventually discovers that Rick survived the explosion. She finds his boots and an iPhone with an engraving of her and Judith. Among her findings was a map that mentions a shipyard in New Jersey. She knows he at least survived the explosion, and she feels she must search for him. After radioing Judith and explaining, Judith encourages her to find him.

In Michonne’s final scene, she meets two survivors trying to reconnect with their much larger group seen in the background. Perhaps this group has aided Michonne in her search.

In the spinoff series, The Walking Dead World Beyond, it was confirmed that Rick was traded to the Civic Republic by Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh). Scenes from the final episode of the series indicate that the primary location of the CR, which has been kept secret, could possibly be located in Philadelphia. Bloodsworth Island isn’t that far south of Philadelphia. So, the hope is that she has been able to find out who took him and is working on a plan to get him out.
