The Walking Dead series announced its final season quite some time ago. It was a shock to the fandom and many of the cast. This same thing happened when creator Robert Kirkman released a surprise final issue of the comic story.

When the final season of The Walking Dead was announced, it seemed like it would be a long time coming. The last season would consist of 24 episodes, making it almost a full two seasons, and would span two years of air time.

But, that time quickly sped by, and the series wrapped up filming the final episode on March 30, 2022. The community of Alexandria, which is located in Senoia, Georgia, is even being dismantled, and the houses there are for sale.

The Walking Dead – new episode tonight

Tonight, April 10, 2022, AMC will air the last midseason finale of The Walking Dead series. The episode is titled “Act of God,” an action-packed episode.

At the end of the previous episode, Lance Hornsby makes a new friend when he encounters Leah. The teaser trailer reveals that he hired her to kill someone in the midseason finale.

Maggie and the others at Hilltop prepare to defend themselves and the survivors from Riverside against Hornsby and his Commonwealth troops.

Things are getting exciting back at the Commonwealth as a group prepares to investigate that mysterious list of names.

This episode will carry viewers into the final eight episodes of the series that will air in the fall of 2022. It is exciting and sobering to realize only eight episodes are remaining in this story.

The fandom will live on the numerous spinoff series, including, Fear the Walking Dead, Isle of the Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, and the Daryl and Carol spinoff series.
