The Walking Dead – Trust

5) After explaining that the soldiers found tire tracks near Riverbend, Hornsby tells Maggie that he “comes from a long line of gearheads,” implying that he comes from a family of auto mechanics, which may explain his families’ relationship with the Miltons.

6) After talking to Maggie, Hornsby spots Hershel at Glenn’s grave and begins talking to him before giving him back his hat, which Hornsby explains was found at Riverbend, which was obviously left behind when Negan rescued Hershel from the soldier who found him. You’d think, with Maggie having made an effort to disable the truck (and rule it out as evidence against her), you’d think she, or Negan, or Elijah, or Lydia, or someone would have thought to double-check the apartment building for any other evidence before they left, like Hershel’s hat.

7) When Elijah gets spooked by Hornsby talking to Hershel and confronts him, Maggie says that most people who’ve threatened her family are dead. She is quite right. In fact, the only exceptions are Negan and Leah.

8) During the tense situation between Hilltop and Hornsby and his entourage, Daryl says, “fucking”. Wow. Did this air in the normal broadcast? Or was it something only seen by AMC+ subscribers? Either way, you’d think, of all people in the show, that Negan would be the first to say it, considering how integral the word is to his vocabulary in the comics.

9) While trying to steal medical supplies from the hospital, Tomichi tells Ezekiel that the Commonwealth …has a way of lulling you. Why upset the applecart if it’s keeping you safe?” In this episode, he is the third person to express this or a similar sentiment of not wanting to risk their relative safety to tackle some of the Commonwealth’s more significant problems. Max is afraid to search for files on the people named in the list Connie was given, and Mercer is afraid to bring Sebastian to justice for fear that it might jeopardize the safety of the Commonwealth’s civilians, particularly if Sebastian had him “removed.”
