During this week’s episode of The Walking Dead, viewers were treated to a teaser trailer of the Tales of the Walking Dead spinoff series that will air this summer. It is nice to know that once Fear the Walking Dead’s seventh season is over, Tales of TWD will be there to fill the void until The Walking Dead begins again in the fall.

Tales of the Walking Dead is an anthology series that will consist of six stand-alone stories. These stories will feature new and existing Walking Dead characters. Channing Powell is the showrunner for this series and has written several episodes of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.

Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead director Michael Satrazemis has directed episodes 1, 3 and 6 for the first season of Tales of TWD. Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier, and Tara Nicole Weyr have directed one of the remaining three.

If you haven’t already, you can view the trailer below.

Nothing regarding titles or who stars in which episodes have been announced other than Samantha Morton will reprise her role as Alpha in the final episode of this season, and Lauren Glazier will also star in this episode.

The teaser shows six boxes, which could represent the six episodes giving us some hints of who stars together. The top box shows Parker Posey and Jullian Bell together; next, we see Olivia Munn and Terry Crews. The top right-hand box shows Poppy Liu and Anthony Edwards. The bottom left is a bit hard to tell but could possibly be Daniella Pineda and Danny Ramirez. Then Samantha Morton and Lauren Glazier, followed by Jessie T. Usher and Embeth Davidtz.

It is an exciting premise for a series that could lead to many seasons that could expand into Fear the Walking Dead’s characters and beyond. And, if done right, it could really take the fandom to the next level.
