Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on April 17 with the back half of season 7. During the midseason finale of this season, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) declared war on Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), adding to the complications already encountered as the survivors find themselves amid a nuclear wasteland within a zombie apocalypse.

Towards the end of season 6, Alicia was locked in a bunker by cult leader Teddy Maddox (John Glover), and she wouldn’t be seen again until the seventh episode of season 7. This was when she appeared as the leader of a new group that Dwight (Austin Amelia) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) had partnered with.

Alicia’s group was part of a larger group of people that originated from Teddy’s Doomsday Cult members from the bunker. Since escaping the bunker, this group has separated into Alicia’s group and the Stalker’s, a rogue group of hostiles led by Arno (Spenser Granese).

Arnold, known as Arno, was handpicked by Teddy as one who should inherit the earth and placed in the bunker beneath the Franklin Hotel with the other chosen ones. Teddy told them to wait for the arrival of Alicia, who would then be their leader. Viewers saw this via flashbacks of the time Alicia was absent from the series.

Arno would eventually part ways with Alicia and form the group known as the Stalkers. This group first appears in the season 7 premiere episode “Beacon,” where they are seen killing walkers and removing their clothes. At that time, this act wasn’t explained, but it would later be revealed this was done so that Alicia would be unable to find the walker version of Senator Elias Vazquez, who she believed would lead her to PADRE. This location is rumored to have been constructed by the US government with plans to rebuild after a catastrophe.

The Stalkers also tried to get to June (Jenna Elfman) and John Dorie Sr. (Keith Carradine) while they were taking shelter in Teddy’s secret bunker after the nuclear bomb detonation. Sarah (Mo Collins) and Josiah LaRoux (Demetrius Grosse) would encounter a lone Stalker, Sage (Jacob Kyle Young) while searching for Wendell (Daryl Mitchell). Sage would be the one who would find an unexploded nuclear warhead that is leaking radiation.

The Stalkers attack Strand’s Tower by flinging walkers at the tower with a trebuchet and threaten to use radiated walkers to attack if they aren’t permitted to enter the Tower.

As the back half of season 7 begins, Arno will still be hunting Alicia. It still isn’t clear why Arno broke away from Alicia and why he is stalking her, but perhaps this information will be revealed. In the remainder of this season, Alicia has much to handle, with Arno in pursuit, Strand as an enemy, and her fevers.
