Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday, April 17, with the midseason premiere of season 7. Things are heating up as Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and Strand (Colman Domingo) go to war. Sometime before this season is over, fan-favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) will make her return to the series. One character who could be in danger is Charlie (Alexa Nisenson).

In a sneak peek of episode 710, “Mourning Cloak,” we see that Charlie has arrived at Strand’s tower. Charlie is a bright girl who has learned many skills in her short life. Growing up in an apocalypse will do that to a kid. She is very alert to her surroundings, and she can sneak into places others can’t.

She will be partnered with a new character, Ali (Ashton Arbab), one of Strand’s Rangers. They appear to go on a mission to retrieve parts to repair the elevators in the tower. Charlie hopes that Strand will allow her to live there if she completes the task. But Charlie is a sneaky one; what is her end game? Will this mission put her life in danger?

It appears that others have gone on the mission to retrieve the parts for the elevator, unsuccessfully. Some scouts have contracted radiation poisoning during their search for the parts. Is that the only danger lurking that could put Charlie and Ali’s lives on the line? Charlie is cautious, but that doesn’t mean she can’t run into something she cannot handle.

Another issue that Charlie will have to contend with during the back half of this season is the return of Madison Clark (Kim Dickens). Charlie killed Madison’s son Nick (Frank Dillane) in an earlier season, and no one knows how Madison will react to the news that her son was murdered. That compounded with the fact that his murderer still lives among them.

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC with “Follow Me” on April 17. AMC+ will have that episode and “Mourning Cloak” available that same day.
